Life Changing Smile Makeovers!
Typically, high quality "Smile
Makeovers" require three appointments: 
1) Diagnosis and treatment planning. This important step also includes Cosmetic Imaging on the computer for you to discuss your smile preferences. You help design your final smile outcome
2) preparation of the teeth and trial smile temporaries (your opinions matter here!)
3) Bonding in the real beautiful porcelain veneers. Congratulations
on your smile Makeover!
During the tooth preparation visit, the teeth are prepared to allow
for the small added thickness of the veneer. Usually, about a half
a millimeter of the tooth is removed, which may require a local
anesthetic. During the same visit, a mold is taken of the teeth,
and sent to the laboratory for the fabrication of the veneers.
Dr. Lutke makes the most natural & attractive temporary veneers,
while the final porcelain veneers are being created. The temporary
veneers are for you to preview your new smile. Any changes in shape
or color - completely controlled by the patient - can be
accomplished in this temporary state. The temporary veneers last
for 2-4 weeks, while our lab technician creates your beautiful porcelain
veneers. The final porcelain veneers are customized with your goals
and opinions in mind. We are working for you!
During the final "bonding" visit, the veneers are placed on the
tooth surface with water or glycerine on the teeth to check their
fit and get a sense of the shade or color. While the veneers are
resting on your teeth, they can be adjusted with various shades
of cement to match the color of your teeth. To apply the veneer,
the tooth is cleansed with specific chemicals to achieve a bond.
Once a special cement is sandwiched between the veneer and tooth,
a visible light beam, or laser, causes a catalyst to be released,
hardening the cement.
